Mastodon est un groupe de sludge métal américain fondé en 1999 par Brann Dailor et Bill Kelliher, deux anciens membres du groupe Lethargy et Today is the day. Le groupe est constitué de Troy Sanders (bassiste, chanteur), Brent Hinds (guitariste, chanteur), Bill Kelliher (guitariste) et Brann Dailor (batteur). Albums de références : "Remission", "Leviathan", "Blood Mountain".
